Gun Design

This weeks homework consists of designing a futureristic gun. My first idea for creating the gun was to go with a sub machine gun design as I didn't have to worry about the length proportions when creating it. I felt I could of worked a little bit harder when designing my initial approach for this gun, I had a look at some guns are the internet, like snipers and futuristic laser guns and I was pretty set on making a machine gun with futuristic looking scope and look to it however, I feel that my gun does unfortunately look more modern allowing me next time to really improve on how my gun will look if I do it another time round. After finishing my design drawing I though it would be a good way to use my  design and create a 3D model in Maya. Here is the result:
