Life Drawing

In this weeks life drawing session we were asked to use Ink and see what designs we could come up with. I enjoyed using ink as this was the first time I was really able to experiment with it although it did have a couple of it downsides, the first problem I noticed was that as soon as the ink hit the paper it would just expand and easily smudge if you put to much on at a time, my first ink painting I did I tried to be delicate and do a detailed silhouette until I was asked to experiment more, so I decided to see how well I could try and shade with it. In the painting below I tried to make the right hand side of my paintings body extremely dark and the slowly make it lighter more it smudged left and give a lightly smudged background to make the boldness of the ink to really show, I also tried to focus on the lighting of the model to see where the light patches were with the sun reflection which were usually on the top of the shoulders and a little on the waist.
